He is a performer at the very top of his game. He has recently completed recording the entire 32 piano sonatas written by Beethoven, plus 3 other sonatas not usually included. He gave an astonishing and beautiful performance of the Appassionata sonata, one of the greatest sonatas ever written. Also music by Chopin, Schumann, Debussy and Maxwell Davies. One of those recitals that will stay with us till the day we die.

I did some promotional photos for his agency Hazard Chase.

A Good Clean https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2019/3/a-good-clean An english woman, Anna-Marie Hilling, who spent 6 years cleaning and restoring a 15 foot crucifix stored in a side-room in Ognissanti Church in Florence has helped to uncover an original work by the italian early renaissance master Giotto. Cleaning away centuries of grime and candle soot revealed magnicent colours and the crucifix now hangs proudly in the main church. A close shave... https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2019/3/a-close-shave Detail of Christ from The Resurrection by Pietro della Francesca in Museo Civica Sansepulcro, TuscanyA british artillery officer, Tony Clarke, defied orders to bomb the city of Sansepulcro when the allies were driving Nazi forces north through Italy in World War II. He remembered reading Aldous Huxley’s comment that the city has 'the most beautiful painting in the world" It is a stunning work of art.

Kester Jones-Hanby https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2018/4/kester-jones-hanby Good to hear from Kester Jones-Hanby who did some photoshop work for me when he was a schoolboy. He is now studying film at Leeds. Best of luck with your career!

Also had contact from Jonathan and Angie Scott who I travelled to Antarctica with some years ago. A fabulous couple of esteemed wildlife photographers and zoologists, unassuming and genuinely keen to help other photographers. They have a new series on TV this summer. Keep eyes peeled!

Welcome Back! https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2018/3/welcome-back Welcome back to Peter Barritt's official website. What a hassle to get back online!! My domain company, who shall remain nameless, apparently let my domain payment lapse and soon after a company bought up my peterbarrittphotography.com domain and wants £500+ for me to buy it back... So anyway I have changed to peterbarrittphotography.co.uk and should now be up and running.

I am busy trying to plough through my art photos that I took in the USA last year. They have the most incredible art collections in those US galleries. At 10 minutes per photo and a couple of thousand images to work through it may take all year!

Meanwhile I have been to various galleries in the UK including the Lady Lever Gallery in the Wirral to refresh my image bank. I am visiting English galleries with two friends who are also keen on art history. Last week we took in the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, what a fantastic collection of art. The Singh identical twins had a fantastic new exhibition there, absolutely stunning so I encourage you to get along while it is still showing.

Next trip is to Tuscany to photograph art from the early Renaissance period, mainly Pisa, Lucca and Siena but we will also do day trips to Assisi, Montepulciano and San Gimignano.

The Big Smoke https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2012/3/the-big-smoke Just returned from a 4 day trip to London. Managed to get to both Hampton Court and Kew Gardens in fine weather, both places I've been planning to get to for some years. Both venues are very photographer friendly and offer some interesting viewpoints, worth visiting at different times of year. You can really feel the history in Hampton Court and the guides in each room really know their stuff. Great for kids.

London sparkled in the sunshine. I had a fun couple of hours doing some street photography around Trafalgar Square.

New website https://www.peterbarrittphotography.co.uk/blog/2012/3/new-website Hi and welcome to my updated website. First thing to say to any budding pro photographers out there is... Look at Zenfolio first!! I have been wasting time and money trying to work out wordpress and buying Themeforest templates etc. Forget it, unless you have experience of website design. The boffins speak in terms unintelligible to the jobbing photographer!

I stumbled on Zenfolio at Focus on Imaging in Birmingham 2012 and am very glad I did. Just what I wanted. Can be designed exactly as you want it with no understanding of website codes etc. Follow the simple instructions or watch videos about different topics. The company is based in California and is designed for pro photographers.

Please sign the guestbook and let me know what you think.
